Pastor Matthew Jackson
Lady Abby Jackson
Church of Flint
Since about age 5, Matthew Jackson has been proclaiming the Word of the Lord.  Sitting in the lap of his mother, he was taught the Scriptures before he could read.  Although his first formal sermon happened during his freshman  year at Flint Northern High School, his first public sermon was actually on the baseball diamond of Jefferson Elementary School while still in kindergarten.

Jackson has served as local and state Sunday School Superintendent and Youth Leader.  His volunteer work includes serving the sick and bereaved and includes being chaplain to Flint's main hospitals: Hurley, McLaren and Genesys for nearly 15 years.  Pastor Jax, as he's affectionately called, had served as Assistant Pastor of Refuge Temple (and Pastor Seon Thompson) for nearly 15 years.

Before serving at Refuge, his experience was predominantly in the business sector, on a pathway to becoming a company VP. He has held various leadership positions and managed many different high revenue departments at companies Wards, Value City, Home Depot, and Sears.

Jackson has completed studies at Berea Bible Institute and Mott College.  Presently, he's completing a business management program, and yet has future sights of completing studies in communication, leadership, and psychology.

The first of 5 children of Henry and Patricia Doan, he is happily married to the amazing, creative, statuesque Lady Abby, enjoying over 25 years of success with one wife.  Together they enjoy 2 sons PJ and Maxx (Davida); and 3 gorgeous grand-daughters: Aaliyah, Gabriella, and Angelina.

Outside of Marriage, Family and Ministry, he enjoys time on the golf course.  In 2014, after bringing a circle of friends together, he founded The Jax Tour.  The Jax Tour hosts tournaments in Flint, Saginaw, Pontiac, Davison, Lansing, Metamora, and other neighboring cities.  The Jax Tour provides brotherhood, mentoring, ministry and recreation for men of various walks.
